The nine documents the three establishment templates produce, and the three additional documents the fourth template produces per alignment cycle. Each has a distinct purpose and audience. This page lists them in order, with the reader who reads each, so a coordinator can keep track of what document does what.
Overview
The founding suite produces documents in a consistent tripartite pattern. Each template’s Prompt 3 delivers three documents: a short formal Statement or Definition, a long referential Evidence Pack or Atlas, and a short co-signed Compact or Charter. Across the three establishment templates, this yields nine outputs. The fourth template adds three more per instrument aligned.
Twelve documents in total for a BioHub aligned to one instrument. Fifteen for a BioHub aligned to two. And so on.
From the BioHub Identity Template
1. Identity Statement. Short, formal, foundational reference document. Five to ten pages. States who the BioHub is: name, founding cohort, anchor location, purpose, position within the field in brief, intellectual lineage in brief, entity form. Read by counterparties, funders, peer BioHubs, and prospective cohort additions as first-contact material.
2. Field and Lineage Positioning. Long, structured referential document. Thirty to fifty pages. Compiles the global BioHub field mapping, the intellectual lineage, the research base, the cohort’s published work, and the specific contribution the BioHub makes to the field. Read by the cohort when engaging with the global field, by academic partners, and by anyone conducting due diligence on the BioHub’s intellectual standing.
3. Founding Compact. Governance and commitment document. Five to ten pages. Co-signed by the founding cohort. Establishes the BioHub as a coordination body worthy of commitment. Read by the cohort itself as its constitutional document, by counterparties assessing the BioHub’s governance standing, and by prospective new cohort members.
From the BioRegion Establishment Template
4. BioRegion Definition. Short, formal, foundational reference document. Five to ten pages. States the BioRegion’s boundaries, the reasoning behind them, the reconciliation of ecological and cultural boundaries, the coordination bodies recognized within, and the multi-BioHub context. Read by counterparties, funders, and peer BioHubs asking “what is your BioRegion?”
5. BioRegion Atlas. Long, structured referential document. Thirty to sixty pages. Compiles the ecological, hydrological, jurisdictional, cultural, institutional, infrastructural, and climate profiles of the BioRegion, plus the Water Retention Landscape baseline, the soil carbon baseline, and the biodiversity inventory. Read by the cohort when planning specific coordination work, by scientific and academic partners, and by counterparties conducting technical due diligence.
6. BioRegion Charter. Governance and commitment document. Five to ten pages. Establishes the BioRegion as a coordination object worthy of commitment. Recognizes prior custodial and coordination bodies. Sets out the principles under which coordination happens within the BioRegion. Co-signable by participating bodies. Read by peer coordination bodies, custodial authorities, and any body invited to co-sign.
From the BioConomy Value Proposition Template
7. Value Proposition Statement. Short, formal, foundational reference document. Five to ten pages. States what the BioHub tenders and why, populated from the six-panel BioConomy Value Proposition Canvas. Summarizes the external face (counterparties) and the internal face (participants). Read by counterparties, capital patrons, community members, and peer BioHubs as the BioHub’s canonical introduction to its offer.
8. Value Proposition Evidence Pack. Long, structured referential document. Thirty to fifty pages. Compiles counterparty profiles, participant profiles, market signals, mechanisms, precedent cases, retention economics scaffolding, the readiness diagnostic, and the gap register. Read by the cohort when preparing specific tenders, by counterparties conducting due diligence, and by participants understanding what the BioHub’s coordination will require of them.
9. Tender Compact. Governance and commitment document. Five to ten pages. Co-signed by the cohort and, where applicable, by counterparty and participant representatives. Establishes what the BioHub commits to tender, on what retention terms, to which counterparties and participants. Read by counterparties entering into specific tender agreements (the agreements reference this Compact by co-signature), and by the cohort holding itself accountable to its tender commitments.
From each run of the Bankable Service Alignment Template
Each run produces three additional documents specific to one target instrument. A BioHub aligning to two instruments runs the template twice and holds six alignment documents.
10. Alignment Statement. Short, formal document. Five to ten pages. Maps the BioHub’s retention services onto the target instrument’s architecture. Read by the instrument’s arranger, verification agent, implementation partner, and anchor investors as first-contact material.
11. Alignment Evidence Pack. Long, structured referential document. Twenty-five to forty-five pages. Compiles the instrument research, verification methodology analysis, precedent instrument cases globally, the specific mapping, regulatory and legal requirements, and price-discovery evidence. Read by the cohort preparing the specific instrument-aligned tender, by the instrument’s parties conducting due diligence, and by specialist counsel drafting the resulting contract.
12. Alignment Compact. Coordination and commitment document. Five to ten pages. Co-signed by the cohort. Establishes what the cohort commits to build toward instrument readiness. Read by the cohort holding itself accountable to the build-out trajectory, and by instrument parties who need to see that a credible build-out plan exists.
How the outputs are used together
A first-contact communication to a counterparty typically sends the Statement or Definition alone. A due diligence response typically sends the Evidence Pack or Atlas. A formal coordination relationship references the Compact or Charter for its governance basis.
For a BioHub tendering into a specific bankable instrument, the four Statements or Definitions (Identity, BioRegion, Value Proposition, Alignment) travel together as the introductory pack. The four Evidence Packs or Atlases become the due diligence pack. The four Compacts or Charters (Founding, BioRegion, Tender, Alignment) become the governance pack.
The three-layer coordination stack (Founding Compact at BioHub level, BioRegion Charter at BioRegion level, Tender Compact and Alignment Compact at tender level) should be internally consistent. Where a term or protocol appears in more than one layer, the more specific layer refines rather than contradicts the more general one.
