The paper establishes the theoretical framework that Graves later applied to civilizational analysis in his 1974 Futurist article. Beck and Cowan subsequently developed Graves’s framework into the Spiral Dynamics model, introducing the color-coded value systems (Beige through Turquoise) that popularized his developmental framework.
