The report proposes a dashboard of 31 indicators and calls for adding them to the decisions of international financial institutions on concessional lending and debt analysis. Its executive summary states that the report “does not ask the world to abandon GDP.” At the launch the UN Secretary-General said that “growth at any cost leaves us all poorer.” The wiki cites it in What GDP Leaves Out as the most recent official admission that the gauge misreads, and as a record that the GDP-based instruments of fiscal and lending policy remain in force.
