Rebelo, A.J. (2012). An ecological and hydrological evaluation of the effects of restoration on ecosystem services in the Kromme River System, South Africa. MSc thesis, Stellenbosch University.
The thesis models that converting floodplain wetlands lowered baseflow and made the Kromme catchment more responsive to extreme rain, and that restoring 1950s land cover (clearing 26.9 km² of Acacia mearnsii and restoring 5.2 km² of wetland) would add 42 mm a year of flow and 2.9 mm a year of baseflow. The wiki cites it as evidence that wetland restoration acts mainly on baseflow while clearing drives most of the volume gain.
