The soil-carbon evidence base for renosterveld restoration in the Overberg. Mills and colleagues measured intact renosterveld at 84 Mg C/ha versus actively farmed fields at 69 Mg C/ha, with fallowing recovering stocks to approximately 82 Mg C/ha. The finding creates a co-financing pathway for BioHub economics: carbon credit revenues can be stacked on top of water-yield payments from the same restored hectare.
