Ray, J. (2026, 18 March). “Happiness Rankings Show Stability and Change.” Gallup.
The article reports that the United States fell from 17th place in the 2013 rankings to 23rd, “driven largely by lower life evaluations among young adults,” and that Canada fell from 6th to 25th. Among people under 25, life evaluations since 2006 to 2010 changed by −0.960 points in the United States and −1.138 in Canada, among the steepest declines of 136 countries; in 85 of those countries the young rated their lives higher than in the baseline years. The wiki cites it for the youth figures beside the national table in What GDP Leaves Out. The underlying data are in the World Happiness Report 2026.
