The release reports life expectancy at birth of 79.0 years in 2024, the highest recorded for the United States, and 79,384 overdose deaths, down from the 105,007 reported for 2023 in the NCHS release of 19 December 2024. The wiki cites it as counterevidence. On mortality, US households were better off in 2024 than before the pandemic, which limits the claim in What GDP Leaves Out to the measures where the evidence holds.
