Australian researcher, biologist, and co-originator of permaculture with David Holmgren in the late 1970s. Mollison’s Permaculture One (1978) and the later Permaculture: A Designers’ Manual (1988) set out the design system that most of the BioPlace practice lineage now draws on. He founded the Permaculture Institute in Tasmania and taught the first Permaculture Design Courses that became the global training format for the field.
